How the plastic bottle recycling system works
Before releasing a new recyclable plastic bottle into the market, it has to be registrated into PALPA´s recycling system by registrated importer or brewery. PALPA updates the registered beverage container database into the reverse vending machines twice a month. The consumer gets the deposit fee back by returning the registrated beverage container to the return station.
The deposit payer delivers sold item numbers to PALPA once a month. PALPA charges a deposit fee and a recycling fee from the deposit payer depending on the sold item numbers.
Palpa pays the deposits back to the shopkeepers that have paid them to consumers.
The returned empty bottles are transported to the recycling station where they will be baled and supplied to the follow-up handler. The bales are supplied as raw material and they will be crushed. The crushed grain will be washed and granulated. After this the recycling bottles are reusable as raw material.
